How to join the club

All members must be over 18 years of age. Prospective members should first:

When you are ready to join, download the Membership Application Form, fill out the personal details and take it on your club walk. The leader will complete the qualifying walk details, including nomination for membership.

If you prefer to apply by mail, sign and forward the completed form with your subscription (see below) to:

The Membership Secretary
Canberra Bushwalking Club
GPO Box 160
CANBERRA ACT 2601

If you prefer to apply on-line, go to the sign-up page after your qualifying walk and fill out the on-line application form as requested, including relevant information from the application form. Entering your own details ensures that they are correct in the club member database.

All membership applications need to be approved by the club committee and you will be advised by email when this has been done. In the interim, you are welcome to participate in the club's walk program and functions. Once approved, you will receive the Club's newsletter (it), which is published monthly, except for January (11 issues per year) and have access to members-only pages on the club website.

Subscription rates are set at the Annual General Meeting each September and may change from year to year. Current rates are $27.00 for annual membership if you choose to receive the club newsletter electronically or $46.00 to have a hard copy mailed to your postal address (to cover printing and postage).

The Club has a rolling membership year and membership is valid for for twelve months from the date of joining. This entitles you to participate in club walks and other functions and to receive the monthly newsletter.

The Membership Application Form, Club's Constitution, Guidelines for Participants and other documents are available from the Club Documents page.

Further information may be obtained from any Committee Member (see contacts), but preferably the Membership Secretary.

The picture at the top of this page is of the Corang River, which flows westward out of the Budawang Mountains. With its many cascades and rocky ribs it is a favourite destination for club walks (phot John Evans).
